Half Term is upon us and all parents out there are desperately searching for activities to keep the little ones occupied. Days out with the kids are fun but can be expensive. Plus, by the time you’ve hauled all family members into the car and sat in 15 traffic jams, it’s time to head back again!
We’ve collated 5 fantastically fun activities to get stuck into, from the comfort of your very own garden! Check them out below and get ready for family fun you won’t forget!
This one is PERFECT for entertaining the kids…and gaining a few brownie points for being the coolest parents ;-) Project the kids’ favourite movie (hopefully that doesn’t spark too many arguments!) onto a wall or screen with a projector and cosy up on your Club Rattan Furniture with blankets and snacks! You can even get creative and create movie posters and tickets with the kids during the day for the full experience.

The warming weather is perfect for starting to eat outside. Who doesn’t love a bit of Alfresco Dining? We all know the excitement of a BBQ in the summer- for both kids and adults- so it’s a perfect choice for some family fun! Barbecue foods suck as kebabs are super fun to personalise to your own taste and prepare with the kids to get them involved in the process. Cook them up on one of our Fogo and Chama BBQs and enjoy munching away in the sunshine!
Alternatively, get the little ones involved in making their own pizzas and cook them up in a matter of minutes in our Fogo and Chama Gas Pizza Oven! Check out our range of Barbecues and Pizza Ovens here>>
Camp in your garden
Bring the holiday vibes to the comfort of your very own garden this Spring and camp out at home! Pitch up a tent, grab every pillow and blanket you can find and curl up for a night of storytelling and fun. As the night grows a little cooler, warm up with our Electric Patio Heater>> and get those marshmallows melting on one of our Barbecues>> …S’mores anyone?
Olympics at home
Create your very own tournament at home! Create a list of sporty tasks, such as beanbag toss or tug of war, and get the whole family involved. Create family teams, chuck on some face paint and sweatbands and get competing! Fun for the family, full of exercise…and it will tire the kids out (perfect).
Make a bug hotel
This is perfect for those who love a bit of arts and crafts! Teach the vital lesson of protecting wildlife, learn the benefits different insects provide and encourage kids to recycle different materials. Oh, and all whilst having fun! Check out wildlifetrusts.org’s blog on ‘How to Build a Bug Mansion’ here>> for the perfect materials and technique to create the perfect bug hotel!
If you try out any of these activities, be sure to send us photos and tag us @clubrattan! Have a wonderful half term and let’s hope for sun!
